Hi there! My name's Jalyse [Juh-Lease] and it's so nice to meet you. To me, communication design should be functional and fun, and I enjoy incorporating stories in my design. If I could have lunch with any creative, it would be Tim Walker, and if I could be a part of any design movement it would either be the Memphis Group or Mid-Century Modern.

In January of 2021, I began working at IMPAPER, a Calgary-based stationery company. My job as their in-house graphic designer ranges from illustrating greeting cards, designing promotional content, running social media, new product research and development, as well as many others. In September 2021, I attended Emily Carr University of Art + Design. My favourite classes being photography (film and digital), printing, and design ethics. During my time here I was a part of WOO Publications, a student-led club that created bi-annual student publications, featuring over 150 student works. I was the graphic designer on the media team, which gave me the responsibility of uniting the student body by creating social media content and collaborating on ways to bring students together in unique ways.

On the days when I'm not glued to my computer working away on Adobe, you can find me at local art markets around Vancouver, biking around the SeaWall, or at new dessert spots in Richmond. Being English and Mandarin, I love learning more about my culture and drawing inspiration from the beautiful world around me.
